Good evening. How may I help you?

الطبيب: مساء الخير. كيف لي أن أساعدك؟

Patient
I've had fever since this morning. It's been getting worse, and I'm starting to feel really sick.

المريض: حرارتي مرتفعة منذ الصباح، إنها تزداد سوءاً، و بدأت أشعر فعلاً أنني مريض.

Doctor
Okay, let's start by checking your temperature.
Oh! You have high fever of 102 degrees fahrenheit.

الطبيب: هيا نبدأ بقياس حرارتك.
حرارتك مرتفعة و هي 102 درجة فاهرنهايت.

Patient
I'm not surprised. I've been feeling so hot and sweaty all day.

المريض: لست متفاجئاً. لقد كنت أشعر بالحر و التعرّق كل النهار.

Doctor
Do you have any other symptoms? Any cough, sore throat, or headache?

الطبيب: هل لديك عوارض أخرى؟ أيّ سعال، إلتهاب في الحلق أو صداع؟

Patient
Yes, my throat is a little sore, and I've been having a headache.

المريض: نعم، أشعر بقليل من الإلتهاب في الحلق ولدي صداع.

Doctor
Okay, I see. Have you traveled anywhere recently? Have you been around anyone who is sick?

الطبيب: حسناً، أرى ذلك. هل سافرت مؤخراً لمكان ما؟ هل كنت بالقرب من أيّ شخص مريض؟

Patient
No, I haven't traveled. And I don't know anyone who is sick.

المريض: لا، لم أسافر. و لا أعرف أيّ شخص مريض.

Doctor
Well, there are a lot of possible causes of fever, but with your other symptoms, I think it could be a viral infection like the flu.

الطبيب: حسناً، هناك عدة أسباب محتملة للحرارة، و لكن مع عوارضك الأخرى، أعتقد أنها قد تكون عدوى فيروسية كالإنفلونزا.

Patient
Oh, no. I don't want to get sick.

المريض: آه، لا. أنا لا أريد أن أمرض.

Doctor
Don't worry, most viral infections go away on their own within a week or two. But in the meantime, there are things you can do to relieve your symptoms.

الطبيب: لا تقلق، معظم العدوى الفيروسية تذهب من تلقاء نفسها خلال أسبوع او أسبوعين. و لكن في الوقت الراهن، هناك أشياء يمكنك فعلها لتخفيف باقي العوارض.

Patient
Like what?

المريض: مثل ماذا؟

Doctor
You can take over-the-counter medications like Tylenol to reduce your fever and relieve your headache. You should also drink plenty of fluids.

الطبيب: يمكنك تناول بعض الأدوية (بدون وصفة طبية) مثل التايلانول لخفض حرارتك و تخفيف صداعك. كما يجدر بك شرب الكثير من السوائل.

Patient
Okay.

المريض: حسناً.

Doctor
If your fever doesn't improve within a few days, or if you develop any other symptoms, such a rash, shortness of breath, or chest pain, please come back to see me.

الطبيب: إذا لم تتحسن حرارتك خلال بضعة أيام، أو إذا ظهرت عندك عوارض أخرى كالطفح الجلدي، أو ضيق في التنفس، أو ألم في الصدر، أرجوك عاود زيارتي.

Patient
I will. Thank you, doctor.

المريض: سأفعل. شكراً لك ، أيها الطبيب.

Doctor
You're welcome.

الطبيب: على الرحب.

Doctor
Oh, and one more thing. While you're here, I'm going to order a blood test to rule out any other possible causes of your fever.

الطبيب: أوه، و هناك شيء إضافي. بما أنك هنا، سأطلب لك إختبار دم لأستبعد أي أسباب أخرى لحرارتك.

The doctor orders the test and receives the results.

الطبيب طلب الفحوصات و تلقى النتائج.

Doctor
Your blood test results came back normal, so that's good news. It means that your fever is caused by a viral infection.

الطبيب: أتت نتائج إختبار دمك طبيعية، و هذه أخبار جيدة. هذا يعني أن حرارتك سببها عدوى فيروسية.

Patient
That's good.

المريض: هذا جيد.

Doctor
Just follow the instructions I gave you, and you should start to feel better soon.

الطبيب: إتبع الإرشادات التي أعطيتك إياها، و ستشعر بتحسن قريباً.
